Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, attended on Friday evening the graduation ceremony of the 76th batch of the Faculty of Dentistry, at the Grand Conference Hall of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, in the presence of Dr. Mustafa El-Naggar, President of Matrouh University, Major General Alaa Fathallah, Police Director of West Alexandria, Dr. Ahmed Abdelhakim, Dean of the Faculty, vice deans, faculty members, and parents.

In his speech, Dr. Konsowa congratulated his students on their graduation and the crowning of their great efforts throughout their studies at the faculty. He also thanked the parents for all the support they provided to their children. The university president pointed out the efforts made by Alexandria University to be a competitive university with global quality by expanding external relations with international universities and establishing dual programs to compete locally, regionally and globally. He explained that the joint degree between the Faculty of Dentistry and the University of Manchester is the first joint bachelor’s degree in dentistry in the Middle East.
 
 
 
 
The university president announced the establishment of a distinguished dental complex that will be the largest in the Middle East with extensive equipment from laboratories, dental units, equipment, devices and an integrated research centre. At the end of his speech, Dr. Konsowa referred to supporting scientific research and its applications within the university through the technology park, stressing that the progress of any society comes through a knowledge-based economy.

Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdelhakim, Dean of the Faculty, expressed his pleasure with the graduation of his students, who numbered 749 male and female students, which is the culmination of efforts, perseverance, and years of study, stressing that today is not the end of an academic journey but rather the beginning of a journey full of opportunities and challenges. He pointed out that the profession of dentistry is a great humanitarian profession that requires commitment to the highest standards of ethics and professionalism, and called on the graduates of the faculty to continue to excel and develop.

Within the framework of the protocol signed between the Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Sciences and the Alexandria Port Authority, and under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Sciences organized a training field visit to the Alexandria Port Authority for senior students at the Economics Department as part of the practical and applied training for their transportation and logistics economics course.
 
 
 
The visit comes within the framework of the faculty’s keenness to build scientific capabilities, advance economic knowledge at the academic and applied levels, and develop students’ abilities and skills in a way that responds to professional and functional requirements in the fields of work and serves the local, regional, and international environment.
 
 
 
 
The delegation included Dr. Ahmed Wahban, Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Sherine Nossair, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. end El-Mosallami, lecturer of economics and general coordinator of activities, and Dr. Nahla Azzam, lecturer of economics, along with a group of members of the supporting staff and 48 students. The faculty delegation was received by Navy Major General Ahmed Hamdi Abdelaziz, Vice Chairman of the Authority’s Board of Directors for Operations, and Rear Admiral Hisham Safwat, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for Investment.
 
 
 
 
The meeting witnessed an introduction to the General Authority of Alexandria Port, as one of the most important and largest ports in the Middle East and Africa, and an introduction to the authority’s role and mission in the Egyptian economy, reaching the future vision and strategic plan drawn up for the development of the port, most notably the Grand Alexandria Port Project, which includes the current Alexandria Port, Dekheila Port, and El-Mex Middle Port, including the cargo and container yards, the port’s logistics system, and the sea piers. The program included a visit to the port museum, the passenger terminal, El Maleh Dam Bridge, the Tahya Misr multi-purpose station and the rest of the port facilities.
 
 
 
 
On the sidelines of the visit, Major General Hisham Safwat handed over the commemorative shield of the Alexandria Port Authority to Dr. Ahmed Wahban, Dean of the Faculty, and the students took souvenir photos to document the visit.

Dr. Abdelaziz Konswa, President of Alexandria University, congratulated Karim Ali Anani, student at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria University, for winning the first prize for the best architectural graduation project (Baltim Culture Complex) in the international competition "We Are Desco" among more than 350 participants and having it published in many international architectural magazines and websites, that was under the supervision of Dr. Doaa Ali Hassan, stressing the university’s keenness to provide all support to its talented and creative students to raise the name of Egypt and Alexandria University in international forums.
