Faculty of the Specific Education organizes the seventh employment forum
Under the auspicious of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, inaugurated the seventh employment forum on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the Alexandria Stadium. The forum was organized by the Faculty of Specific Education under the title "Quality Education and Artificial Intelligence as a Gateway to Achieving Sustainable Development." The event was attended by Dr. Nagda Madi, Dean of the Faculty and Chair of the Forum; Dr. Mona Moussa, former Dean of the Faculty and Vice President of the Conference; Dr. Sherif Abdel Moneim, Forum Coordinator; Dr. Salwa Hassan Pasha, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Graduate Studies and Research; Dr. Jihan Abu El-Khair, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs; Major General Hisham Lotfy, Director of the Alexandria Stadium; and a number of members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, former deans of the Faculty and heads of academic departments, faculty members, support staff, and students.
In his speech, Dr. Saeed Allam thanked all the organizers, participating entities, companies, and institutions for their contribution to providing job opportunities for graduates of the Faculty of Specific Education. He pointed out that the title of the forum, "Quality Education and Artificial Intelligence as a Gateway to Achieving Sustainable Development," reflects the approach of Alexandria University and its faculties and institutes according to a unified and systematic plan and strategy that is consistent with the Egyptian state's plan to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals 2030. He added that Alexandria University, under the leadership of Dr. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, is keen to establish partnerships and agreements with international universities to provide Alexandria University students with the opportunity to open up to local, regional, and international labor markets. He expressed his hope that the discussions held on the sidelines of the forum would result in recommendations that achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and contribute to students benefiting from the use of all modern technologies that qualify them for the labor market. He emphasized that the employment forum provides a distinguished opportunity for university students and graduates to communicate directly with company representatives to learn about the labor market's needs in terms of opportunities and skills, in addition to the fruitful experience that undergraduate and graduate students will benefit from this forum.
Dr. Najda Madi emphasized that this year's forum discusses a very important topic that combines the present of education and the future of technology, namely quality education and artificial intelligence as a gateway to achieving sustainable development. She emphasized that quality education, with its innovative curricula and diverse specializations, is a fundamental pillar for building a society capable of keeping pace with global challenges, as its role is not limited to preparing teachers and educators only, but also to graduating cadres capable of creativity and innovation in the fields of arts, home economics, music, and information technology, in a way that meets the needs of the local and global labor market. She added that in the era of the digital revolution, artificial intelligence has become a strategic partner in developing the educational process, as it contributes to improving the quality of teaching and learning according to students' needs and creating interactive educational environments that enhance creativity and innovation and open new horizons for scientific research and entrepreneurship, making it a vital tool for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals 2030. Addressing the students, she emphasized that they are on the threshold of a new stage in their lives that brings opportunities and challenges, adding that the college graduates possess the skills that qualify them to lead positive change in their fields and called on them to invest the knowledge they have acquired in the field. Artificial intelligence and its educational applications, and to be pioneers in employing technology to serve society and achieve sustainable development. At the end of her speech, she thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the forum in both the public and private sectors, who believe in the students' capabilities and contribute to opening up employment opportunities for them.
Dr. Salwa Hassan Pasha emphasized that the launch of the Seventh Employment Forum 2025 comes within the framework of the college's commitment to building bridges of communication between higher education institutions and the labor market, and providing genuine support to our students and graduates at the beginning of their careers. She noted that the college's interest, including the Graduate Studies and Research Sector, in developing the professional skills and capabilities of students and graduates reflects the college's commitment to graduating cadres capable of competing and innovating in various qualitative fields. She added that the forum represents a promising opportunity for networking, exchanging experiences, and building fruitful partnerships between the college, civil society organizations, and the private sector.
Dr. Jihan Abu El Khair indicated that the forum aims to prepare students during the undergraduate stage, as well as provide graduates with opportunities to enter the job market. She noted that employment forums in previous years benefited from surveys, statistics, and feedback from employers, which helped develop the undergraduate regulations based on the credit-hour system by adding new courses and educational programs that connect departments. She emphasized that the college's regulations feature competitive features, such as summer training, a feature of the Faculty, in addition to practical education in schools and employment outside the scope of education, and engagement with civil society, including cultural centers, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, museums, and various activity centers. She emphasized that one of the most important recommendations of this forum is for all college departments to convene for group research conducted by students with their professors, in addition to individual research. She also emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence in quality education, while raising awareness of the risks of its use and paying attention to the positive aspects over the negatives.
On the sidelines of the forum, an art exhibition was organized for students of the Art Education Department at the Faculty under the supervision of Dr. Nahla El-Deeb, Head of the Art Education Department, and Dr. Dalia Mohamed Sharaf, Assistant Professor in the Department of History and Art Appreciation at the Art Education Department. The artworks were diverse and represented different disciplines, including oil painting, graffiti, wood and metal works, decorative designs, hand-woven textiles, and artistic printing. The forum also included a musical concert for students of the final batch of the Music Education Department under the leadership of an elite group of professors from the department.
Faculty of Education Receives Delegation of Teacher Excellence Initiative (TEI)
Within the framework of the Teacher Excellence Initiative at the Faculty of Education, Alexandria University, and under the patronage of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Vice President of Alexandria University for student affairs , and Dr. Mohamed Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Education, received a delegation from the Teacher Excellence Initiative (TEI), which included representatives from Florida State University, Arizona State University, and the American University in Beirut, in the presence of representatives of the Education Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities.
Dr. Mohamed Anwar indicated that the Teacher Excellence Initiative (TEI) is a five-year project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by the Education Development Centre (EDC). He indicated that the project aims to qualify primary school teachers, provide pre-service and in-service teacher preparation programs, as well as develop teacher preparation programs in faculties of education at universities to comply with the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and the Education Development Strategy. Dr. Anwar said that the purpose of the visit is to follow up on the positive effects of the Teacher Excellence Initiative within the Faculty of Education, Alexandria University, to follow up on the outcomes of the developed General Diploma in Education that was implemented in the academic year 2023/2024, to open and visit the exhibition of distinguished professional projects for students of the General Diploma for the three tracks, and to inspect the infrastructure of the faculty, especially with regard to laboratories, and to meet with faculty members, especially those who studied in the developed General Diploma program, as well as to meet students and discuss those projects with them.
As Dr. Anwar said that the visit included inspecting the various sections of the faculty library, including books for undergraduate and graduate students, the postgraduate studies department, the digital library department, and registration on the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, as well as visiting the University Centre for General Professional Development and its role in preparing students of the Faculty of Education for the requirements of the labour market, explaining that such centres provide an additional link for Alexandria University with the Ministry of Education, as they provide training courses on employment skills, especially in private and international schools, which increases the ability of our students to compete in obtaining job opportunities. The delegation also visited the faculty laboratories and its measurement and evaluation unit, where they learned about the nature of electronic correction and the work of the unit, and the nature of statistical reports for correcting exam papers and reviewing some of them. The delegation also visited the STEM lab and the exhibition of professional projects submitted by students of the General Diploma in Advanced Education, batch of the academic year 2023/2024. The visitors expressed their pleasure to for visiting the Faculty of Education at Alexandria University, and their admiration for the achievements they witnessed in the Teacher Excellence Initiative. They also praised what was presented in the Professional Projects Exhibition through various activities such as interactive books based on teaching children a set of skills and enhancing their awareness, as well as activities based on enhancing thinking and awareness in addition to fine motor skills, as all these activities were accomplished during one semester.
On the sidelines of the visit, an interactive seminar was held inside the conference hall of the faculty, and discussed the experience of the Faculty of Education, Alexandria University, in cooperation with civil society in Alexandria and the faculty's activities in the field of training teachers before and during service, and in implementing the faculty's annual career forum.
Faculty of Agriculture in Sababasha holds the faculty annual career forum and exhibition
Under the auspices of Dr. Abdelaziz Konswa, President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Agriculture in Sababasha organized the faculty annual employment forum with the participation of agricultural companies and institutions that provide training and job opportunities for students and graduates of the college in all agricultural fields.
In his speech, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Fattah, Acting Dean of the faculty, welcomed the attendees, stressing the faculty keenness to hold this forum annually to connect students and graduates with the labor market. He pointed out the goal of the forum in the presence of many agricultural companies to help students submit their CVs and provide them with job opportunities in the fields. Various agricultural activities, as well as providing many lectures, workshops, guidance and awareness for students and graduates to develop their capabilities and skills.
Dr. Iman Ayyad, Acting Vice Dean of the faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, confirmed the faculty keenness to provide a number of distinguished companies to participate in the forum’s activities to provide training opportunities for students and jobs for graduates in various fields, pointing to the faculty role in providing services to the surrounding community.
During the forum, two seminars were presented: the first entitled Physiological Stages in the Grape Crop, in which Eng. Mohamed Mazen, technical support engineer at Ajyad Company and grape cultivation consultant in Egypt, and the second symposium entitled Integrated Management for Combating Rural Armyworms was delivered by Dr. Mohamed El-Nasharty Abdel-Al, researcher at the Agricultural Research Center.
The forum was attended by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Al-Bakhshwan, former Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and former Head of the Agricultural Syndicate, former deans and deans of the faculty, gentlemen faculty members, gentlemen heads of scientific departments, faculty professors in various specializations of scientific departments, assistant teachers, teaching assistants, administrators, faculty graduates, and students. During the day, companies participating in the forum will be honored.
Symposium Entitled “The Dangers of Addiction and Its Negative Effects on the Individual and Society” at Faculty of Medicine
Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Dr. Ali Abdel Mohsen, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Acting Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, the Faculty of Medicine at Alexandria University organized a symposium entitled “ The dangers of addiction and its negative effects on the individual and society.” The symposium was attended by Dr. Iman Youssef, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Tamer Abdallah, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, in addition to several faculty members, department heads, civil society representatives, and medicine students at Alexandria University.
The attendees, including experts and specialists in the field of drug control, gave lectures on the societal role played by various state institutions in combating addiction and caring for those recovering from it, clarifying misconceptions about addiction, the relationship between mental illness and drug misuse. They also discussed the latest treatment programs for stimulants and the new types of drugs, and their impact on society and the system of moral values, as combating addiction and drugs contributes to protecting society and individuals from this imminent danger that affects them. The experts also explained the negative effects of drug addiction on the individual and society, the role of the family in primary prevention, as it is the first barrier for children, and methods for early detection of addiction.
Faculty of Engineering Organizes a Ramadan Iftar Party for International Students
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Engineering organized a distinctive Ramadan Iftar party for international students registered at the Faculty. The event brought together international students from over 15 countries worldwide, fostering a spirit of brotherhood and tolerance in their second home, Egypt.
The party was attended by Prof. Dr. Walid Abd Elazim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Dr. Essam Wahba, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research; Prof. Dr. Wael Elmaglany, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs and Acting Vice Dean of Community Services and Environmental Development Affairs; and Prof. Dr. Hassan Elregal, Executive Director of Specialized Scientific Programs and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mordi, General Coordinator of Public Programs.
Also in attendance were Dr. Mai Abdo, Director of the International Students Office; Prof. Dr. Hala Mekled, Director of International Students Affairs at Alexandria University; the Faculty Secretary; and the Director of Educational Affairs.
The event was also honored by the presence of His Excellency Col. Frank Bakunzi, Military Attaché of the Republic of Rwanda, who praised the friendly atmosphere that characterized the event. He commended the role played by the Faculty of Engineering and Alexandria University in supporting international students and providing an academic and social environment that enhances their educational experience in Egypt.
This gathering is part of the "Study in Egypt" initiative, adopted by the state, to promote Egypt as a leading educational destination and attract international students to study at Egyptian universities. This initiative reflects the state's keenness to provide distinguished education and enhance cultural exchange among different nationalities, creating an integrated academic environment that meets the needs of international students and helps them achieve their academic aspirations.
The participants expressed their delight at the gathering, which provided an opportunity to interact with colleagues from various nationalities. They emphasized the importance of organizing such events, which promote cultural integration and strengthen friendships among students.
The attendees called for repeating such successful gatherings, which play a vital role in creating a more cohesive and supportive university environment for international students. This aligns with the Faculty of Engineering and Alexandria University's interest in caring for international students and providing an academic and social environment that makes them feel loved and proud in their second home, Egypt.
