As part of the Faculty of Agriculture at Saba Pasha’s commitment to strengthening its community role and spreading awareness of positive values among students, and under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, the faculty organized a seminar within its cultural season activities entitled “Ethics and Values and Their Role in Development.”

Dr. Ahmed Abdel Fattah, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Saba Pasha, emphasized that the seminar addressed the importance of establishing a strong system of ethics and values in society and its role in supporting sustainable development efforts and building a cohesive community based on responsibility and belonging. He also highlighted the importance of promoting these values among youth and students, as they represent the fundamental pillar for building the nation’s future.

The seminar was attended by Dr. Ibrahim El-Gamal, Director General of the Da‘wah and Religious Media Sector, along with a number of scholars from Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and specialists in the field of Islamic outreach. An interactive discussion took place with attendees about the role of religious and human values in spreading positive awareness and confronting negative behaviors within society.

Dr. Iman Ayad, the seminar coordinator, explained that the event was attended by a number of the faculty’s leadership members, faculty staff, teaching assistants, and students, with active engagement and fruitful discussions around the seminar’s themes.

At the end of the seminar, appreciation was extended to the speakers and organizers for the valuable awareness content they presented, which contributes to strengthening students’ community awareness.

In a new achievement reflecting the excellence of Alexandria University students, student Youssef Osama Sadiq and student Bahira Ahmed El-Sheshtawy from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science have been awarded the Sawiris Foundation Scholarship to study at the University of Chicago in the United States for one academic year.

Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim stated that this success comes within the framework of the university’s strategy to enhance international cooperation, support outstanding students, and provide them with opportunities to gain global educational experiences that contribute to developing their skills and building their future capacities. He wished them continued success and excellence during their studies abroad.

Dr. Sherine Adel Nossier, Acting Dean of the Faculty, also congratulated the two students, praising their academic excellence and their ability to compete in prestigious international programs. She emphasized that this achievement reflects the quality of the faculty’s educational and research processes and confirms its ability to prepare qualified graduates capable of competing at the international level, Dr. Sherine Nossier added that the faculty remains committed to providing full support to its students and encouraging them to apply for international scholarships and programs, contributing to the graduation of a generation capable of creativity, innovation, and global competitiveness.

As part of efforts to align educational outcomes with labor market needs, and under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Education organized, the 7th Career Fair under the theme: “Teacher Competencies and Employment Requirements in Schools.” The event witnessed wide participation from major international schools, educational institutions, as well as a distinguished group of academic and executive leaders and representatives of the education sector.

In his speech, Dr. Hassan Abdeen, Dean of the Faculty, emphasized that the fair serves as an effective platform to connect graduates with employment and training opportunities, while supporting the preparation of the “digital teacher” capable of keeping pace with modern demands.

For his part, Prof. Dr. Salem Abdel Razek stressed the importance of continuous professional development for teachers, while Dr. Arabi Abu Zeid highlighted that teacher qualification is a top priority for the education system, praising the cooperation with the faculty as a model of institutional integration.

Participants also pointed to the importance of developing graduates’ skills to keep up with digital transformation and to open up local and international career pathways, especially in light of the accreditations held by some of the participating educational institutions.

The event included specialized scientific sessions on teacher development and skill enhancement, in addition to presentations by training centers addressing qualification opportunities in special education and modern educational technologies.

The fair saw the participation of a number of international schools, language schools, educational institutions, and specialized centers, which offered training and employment opportunities for graduates—further enhancing their readiness to compete in the labor market.

The event concluded with honoring the participating entities in recognition of their role in supporting and qualifying educational professionals.
