Faculty of Education Organizes an Awareness Seminar on National Security Strategies in Celebration of the Glorious October Victories
As part of Alexandria University’s celebrations marking the 52nd anniversary of the Glorious October Victories, and under the auspices of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University, the Faculty of Education organized an educational seminar entitled “National Security Strategies in Light of the Lessons of October.”
The seminar was delivered by Major General Eng. Hafez Hassan, an expert in national security strategies, and featured a special performance by Alexandria University’s Choir.
The event was attended by Dr. Hassan Saad Abdeen, Dean of the Faculty; Dr. Salem Abdelrazek Suleiman, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. El-Sayeda Mahmoud Ibrahim, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research; and Dr. Lamia El-Shafei, Coordinator of Student Activities, along with a distinguished group of faculty members and students.
In his address, Dr. Hassan Saad Abdeen emphasized that the October Victory will forever remain a shining symbol of national pride and Egyptian determination, noting that the spirit of October serves as a model of perseverance and teamwork in achieving development goals and safeguarding the nation’s achievements.
During his lecture, Major General Hafez Hassan discussed the comprehensive concept of national security, explaining that it is not limited to military power alone but rather encompasses intellectual, economic, social, and cultural dimensions. He also stressed the importance of raising youth awareness of their vital role in maintaining the country’s stability and protecting its security.
At the conclusion of the event, the Dean expressed his gratitude to the speaker and attendees, affirming Alexandria University’s commitment to continuing the organization of educational and awareness-raising events that promote national identity and foster patriotic values among its students.
Alexandria University Team “Vulnera” Wins First Place in North Africa at the Huawei Developer Competition 2025
Dr. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, congratulated the Vulnera team from the Faculty of Computers and Data Science on their distinguished achievement of winning first place at the North Africa level in the Huawei Developer Competition 2025, affirming that this victory reflects the excellence of the university’s students and their strong ability to compete in international arenas.
Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, noted that this achievement is a testament to the quality of the educational process and academic training, as well as the advanced applied skills possessed by Alexandria University students. He also highlighted the excellence of the Faculty of Computers and Data Science in the fields of cybersecurity and data science, reaffirming the university’s full commitment to supporting its students and encouraging them to achieve further successes and accomplishments at both regional and international levels.
For her part, Dr. Magda Madbouly, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Data Science, extended her congratulations to the members of the Vulnera team, praising the efforts of the faculty staff and all those who contributed to the team’s academic, technical, and administrative supervision and support. She emphasized the faculty’s commitment to providing a stimulating educational environment that helps develop students’ capabilities and refine their skills.
The Vulnera team consists of student Amr Medhat Fathy, third year, Cybersecurity Department, and student Mohannad Mohiey Mohamed, third year, Cybersecurity Department. This victory is the first of its kind for an Egyptian team in the history of the competition, which witnessed strong competition with the participation of 389 teams and more than 1,400 developers from students, companies, and technology communities from various African countries.
Faculty of Engineering Organizes an Educational Lecture on Regional Challenges and Their Impact on National Security
As part of Alexandria University’s commitment to raising students’ awareness of national security issues, and under the auspices of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University, the Popular and Military Defense Forces, represented by the Military Education Department, in cooperation with the Faculty of Engineering, organized an educational lecture entitled “Regional Challenges and Their Impact on National Security.” The lecture was delivered by Major General (Eng.) Osama El-Gamal, Military Expert and Advisor at Nasser Higher Military Academy, at the Faculty’s Conference Hall.
In his welcoming remarks, Dr. Walid Abdel-Azim El-Borqi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, stressed that the most dangerous challenge facing Egypt’s youth today is the “war of knowledge and information” and the attempts to influence public opinion through the spread of malicious rumors. He emphasized his full confidence in the awareness of Egyptian youth, their love for their homeland, and their ability to defend it.
For his part, Major General Osama El-Gamal reviewed the most prominent challenges facing Egypt’s national security, pointing to schemes aimed at dividing the Arab region and redrawing its map through foreign interventions and fueling sectarian conflicts. He also touched on the issue of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) and the pressures it poses on Egypt, affirming that the political leadership is managing this file wisely and with full awareness of Egypt’s historical rights to the Nile waters.
He also addressed developments in the Palestinian cause, highlighting Egypt’s historic and pivotal role in supporting the Palestinian people and defending their just cause, as well as its continuous regional and international efforts to achieve a permanent ceasefire and prevent any attempts to undermine the issue.
The university students expressed their deep appreciation for the great national role played by the Egyptian Armed Forces in protecting the homeland and defending its vital causes.
In his remarks, Colonel Mohamed Maher, Director of the Military Education Department at Alexandria University, stressed that organizing such lectures and educational seminars is part of an integrated strategy aimed at building students’ awareness of the challenges facing the nation and instilling values of belonging and loyalty. He noted that university students represent the first line of defense in confronting rumors and fourth-generation warfare, through their awareness, perception, and positive energy that are capable of protecting Egypt’s future and safeguarding its resources.
At the end of the event, Major General Osama El-Gamal expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the Popular and Military Defense Forces for their efforts in raising university students’ awareness of current challenges. He also praised the distinguished role of the Military Education Department at Alexandria University in organizing a series of lectures and educational activities that contribute to enhancing students’ national awareness and sense of belonging.
The Faculty of Girls’ Physical Education at Alexandria University Organizes Three Awareness Seminars on “Anger and Violence Management,” “The Art of Excellence in University Public Speaking,” and “Combating Cyber Blackmail”
Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Faculty of Girls’ Physical Education organized a series of awareness events aimed at raising students’ awareness and developing their skills, as part of the faculty’s commitment to providing a supportive and stimulating educational and cultural environment that fosters excellence and creativity.
Dr. Doaa El-Deriry Abu El-Hassan, Dean of the Faculty, emphasized that the Faculty of Girls’ Physical Education continues its efforts to offer awareness and training programs that contribute to building students’ personalities and developing their life and academic skills. She also highlighted the faculty’s ongoing initiatives designed to enhance students’ capabilities and support their role in serving the community, in line with the university’s vision to advance the educational process.
Dr. Sabrine Atiya Morsal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, explained that these seminars come as part of the faculty’s plan to qualify students, strengthen their academic and personal abilities, and reinforce the university’s role in serving the community by providing an environment that supports creativity and innovation.
The first seminar, titled “Anger and Violence Management,” was held in cooperation with the Alexandria Health Directorate – East Medical District. It was presented by Dr. Mariam Mounir Fouad and Dr. Manal Ali Mohamed, specialists in family education at the San Stefano Family Health Center. The seminar discussed the concept and mechanisms of anger, methods for controlling emotional reactions, the associated health impacts, and an overview of anger management sessions, alongside practical guidelines to help students deal positively with emotional situations.
The second seminar, titled “The Art of Excellence in University Public Speaking,” was organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector in cooperation with the Department of Curriculum and Teaching Methods of Physical Education. It was delivered by Dr. Naglaa Fathy Khalifa, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research and Professor of Teaching Methods of Gymnastics and Sports Shows. The seminar covered essential skills for outstanding presenters, body language, effective communication techniques, methods for building self-confidence and psychological readiness, in addition to designing engaging lectures, academic presentation ethics, and showcasing examples of distinguished speakers.
The third awareness seminar, titled “How to Combat Cyber Blackmail,” was organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector in cooperation with the National Council for Women in Alexandria. The seminar explained the definition and types of cyber blackmail, how individuals fall victim to it, practical steps for dealing with such incidents, and the principles of safeguarding information security and data confidentiality. It was delivered by Ms. Mona Refaat Mohamed Taman, Deputy Chairwoman and Managing Director of Leaders of Future International Group. The seminar witnessed significant engagement from the students, with an open Q&A session at the end.
The events were attended by faculty members and students of the college, and the seminars were coordinated by Dr. Wafaa Gaber, the General Coordinator of Seminars at the Faculty.
The First Annual Pediatric Cardiology Unit Conference to Be Held at Faculty of Medicine in December 2025
The Pediatric Cardiology Unit at the Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine – Alexandria University, announces the convening of its First Annual Conference from 18 to 19 December 2025, at the Smouha Medical Complex – Third-Floor Auditorium, Children’s Hospital.
This year’s conference features distinguished scientific collaboration with Prof. Hala Agha and Prof. Magdy Mahmoud through the Pediatric Cardiology Club, in recognition of their valuable academic contributions to the field of pediatric cardiology.
The event will host a select group of professors and experts in pediatrics, pediatric cardiology, and pediatric cardiac surgery from various universities across Egypt, with the aim of exchanging expertise and discussing the latest developments in this specialized field.
