Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, and Dr. Wael Nabil, Vice President of Alexandria University for Education and Student Affairs, the Faculty of Medicine organized the graduation ceremony for class of 2022 (80th class) international students, who numbered 180 students from several countries: including Bahrain, Yemen, Syria, Sudan, South Sudan, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Jordan, Iraq, Somalia, and Mauritania.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Ali Abdel Mohsen, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Hala Maklad, Director of International Students Department at Alexandria University, Dr. Abdullah Al-Harahsheh, Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Dr. Thamer Al-Barakat, Deputy Consul of Iraq, Mr. Abdullah Al-Saadawi, Deputy Consul General of Palestine, Mr. Mohamed Hammad, Cultural Affairs Officer at the Consulate of Palestine, Mr. Ziyad Al-Masry, Deputy Cultural Attaché at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in addition to the Vice Deans of the Faculty of Medicine, members of the faculty, and the Secretary General of the University.

In his speech, Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen welcomed the representatives of the Arab embassies, parents, and graduates, stressing that today is the harvest day in which the students reap the fruits of their efforts that lasted for years, wishing them to be the best ambassadors of Egypt when they return to their countries, and that their efforts will be crowned with progress and success.

While Dr. Hala Maklad congratulated the students on their graduation, being the conclusion of one stage and the beginning of another, through the practice of a great human profession, which is the profession of medicine, stressing that they should be proud of belonging to the University of Alexandria. She also congratulated the parents and representatives of the embassies on the graduation of their sons and daughters, and their return home as qualified doctors capable of serving their countries.

The ceremony included a flag parade of the countries of all the graduates’ nationalities, in addition to honouring the graduates, a singing performance by the Faculty of Medicine choir, and the presentation of graduation certificates.

The President of Alexandria University Dr. Essam El Kurdi opened the Electronic Microscope Unit in the Faculty of Science on Sunday 25/2/2018. Dr. Kurdi opened the unit after upgrading and adding the new microscope JEOL 1400 Plus with a cost of 7 million EGP that considered a unique device in the university and will serve medical, agriculture and industrial fields in addition to energy and nano-technology.

Dr. Essam declared that the university is preparing a plan for a new building in the Faculty of Science similar to the building of the Faculty of Engineering with a cost of 450 million EGP. He also emphasized on calling the civil society organization and industrial companies to cooperate with the university to finance the new building.

The dean Dr. Alaa Ramadan stated that the new device has high image amplification efficiency up to 1.2 million times for diseases diagnosis, quality assurance, industry defects, water purification and other fields.

Dr. Azza Shehata; the executive director of the unit declared that the unit will serve the researchers from all the Egyptian universities through intensive training courses in addition to specialized courses for technicians.

 The event was attended by Dr. Hisham Gaber the university vice president for Education and Students Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Ismail the university vice president for Matroh branch and Dr. Mokhtar Yousef the university vice president for Graduate Studies and Research in addition to faculty members and representatives from industrial companies.

In the interest of the Alexandria University administration to take care of the affairs of foreign students and help them with all the issues they face during their academic career, Dr. Hala Makled, Executive Director of the Department of Foreign Student Affairs and Welfare at the university, received a number of Chinese students studying at the Faculty of Arts at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels to discuss some of the problems that they face. The students expressed their happiness with the tangible development in the speedy completion of the registration procedures and the regularity in studying at the university
On her part, she welcomed  with the proposals made by the students, and confirmed that Alexandria University took full sponsorship for the development of the system of foreign students studying at the university under the instructions of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University, and Dr. Ashraf Al-Ghandour, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and Dr. Wael Nabil Abdel Salam, acting as Vice President of the University For Education and Student Affairs, it is necessary to work to overcome all difficulties and quickly solve all problems facing foreign students

Prof. Dr. El-Sayed El-Saifi, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce at Alexandria University, Prof. Ayman Ahmed Shteiwi, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Alaa El-Din El-Gharbawy, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development. In the presence of the faculty members and the supporting body, on Friday 10/1/2021 the official college celebration activities were held for the graduation of the 75th batch of Arabic Language Accountancy Division from its students. The graduates chanted the oath of loyalty and honor to graduate behind Dr. El-Sayed El-Saifi, Dean of the College.

A delegation from the United States Agency for International Development in Egypt, headed by Ms. Leslie Reid, Director of the Agency, visited the Faculty of Engineering - Alexandria University. Egyptian public universities, and aims to train students and university graduates to bridge the gap between university education and the needs of the labor market and industry.

The delegation included Acting Director of the Education and Health Office Robert Powers, Director of Information Hector Gonzolas, Ms. Wafaa El-Adawy - Project Director of the US Agency for International Development, Ms. Maha Fakhry - Executive Director of the Project at the American University, and Ms. Dina Gohari - Deputy Project Director. The delegation was received by the delegation. From Alexandria University, Prof. Dr. Said Allam - in charge of running the work of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Essam Wahba - Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Tamer Helmy - Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Ms. Dr. Dina Saadallah - Director of the Center College professional development.

During the visit, Prof. Said Allam stressed the importance of cooperation between the two sides, stressing the main role of the center in preparing students according to the requirements of the labor market, and providing training courses on employability and entrepreneurship skills, which increases the ability of our students to compete in obtaining distinguished job opportunities.

The Director of the US Agency for International Development followed the activities of the center during the visit and expressed her admiration for the students' awareness, vision, and enthusiasm for the courses. She also expressed the importance of the project, which in the past three years established eighteen centers in eleven universities in ten governorates from Alexandria to Aswan, and praised the team's capacity-building programs Work at the center to be qualified and able to provide professional guidance services to university students, which contributes to the sustainability of the center and the services it provides.
