The Faculty of Physical Education in Abu Qir - Alexandria University participated as an academic partner in the largest scientific sports event in Egypt, "Sportsexpo Exhibition and Conference", which was organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports under the auspices of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, from 22-25 February 2023 at "El Manara" Conference Center. It was inaugurated by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, in the presence of a large number of ministers and officials, a group of heads of sports federations, experts and academics in the sports field in Egypt and the world.

Dr. Mohamed Belal, Dean of the Faculty, indicated that the faculty contributed to the organization and participation in the conference with a number of scientific sessions through several faculty members, with the aim of enriching the scientific side and linking the faculty with members of the sports industry in Egypt, based on the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, paying attention to sports and health and the role of the faculties of physical education in developing the capabilities of Egyptian youth from both health and physical aspects.
He added that the faculty students participated in the conference and exhibition, which represented their first professional experience and had a positive impact on all of them.

Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Science organized the training program entitled “Preparing the Cadres of the New Republic” in cooperation with the Empowerment Foundation for Sustainable Development (ESDP), and it continues daily from February 17 to 23, 2024, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at the faculty headquarters.

The training program was inaugurated by Dr. Ahmed Wahban, Dean of the Faculty, who explained that this program comes within the framework of the Egyptian state’s interest in empowering young people, training them and building their capabilities based on the importance of their role in building the state and its institutions. He stressed the faculty's readiness to organize any activities that would support and qualify students and provide a real addition to their skills and knowledge.
 
 
Mr. Ahmed Helal - Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ESDP Foundation, pointed out the role of his foundation as a youth organization belonging to civil society and has a prominent role in adopting creative ideas and turning them into reality that works to develop the quality of life of community members, and add new values ​​that raise the standard of living by empowering every creative individual, through providing them with tools and means of knowledge that qualify them to develop their ideas.
 
 
 
The opening ceremony was attended by several members of the House of Representatives, members of the Senate, faculty members, the cooperative body, and elite representatives of civil society in Alexandria from various walks of life.

The administration of the Faculty of Science, Alexandria University, received the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) team, with the aim of evaluating the grants provided by the German institution and discussing various ways of cooperation.
 
 
 
During the visit, the German Authority delegation visited the faculty building in Shatby, inspected the German Authority office there, and also visited the language laboratory and teaching halls, followed by a visit to the faculty building in Muharram Bey.

Dr. Amani Ismail, Acting Dean of the Faculty, indicated that the visit included holding a coordination meeting with the faculty members who received grants from DAAD, and providing a brief presentation about the faculty it's academic programs, published research by the faculty, the level of publishing and joint cooperation with universities in Germany, and the extent of benefit for faculty members from the grants provided by the Authority.
The DAAD delegation also met with a number of the supporting staff and students, and a discussion took place between them about the reasons for their desire to study the German language and to obtain scholarships to study in German universities, in the presence of the German teacher sent by the German Authority for Academic Exchange at the faculty.
 
 
 
The delegation concluded its visit with a field tour inside the faculty building in Muharram Bey, visited the botanical garden and viewed the rare plants and trees in it.

On the evening of Wednesday the 23rd of November, Dr. Ashraf El-Ghandour, Vice President of Alexandria University for Graduate Studies and Research, and the honorary president of the conference, witnessed the inauguration ceremony of the nineteenth annual conference of the Department of Internal Medicine in Alexandria, at the Great Hall of the Faculty of Medicine. The conference that is taking place on the 23rd and 24th of November, under the title "Integrative Medicine for the Department of Internal Medicine", will present the latest techniques and discoveries in disease prevention, treatment and emergency cases concerning internal medicine, haematology, diabetes, hepatology, gastroenterology, and rheumatism.
 
The opening session was attended by Dr. Ali Abdel Mohsen, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Ayman El Shayeb, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Tamer Abdallah, Executive Director of University Hospitals, Dr. Iman Youssef, Head of the Internal Medicine Department and Conference Chair, Dr. Ezzat Ali, Head of the Digestive System Unit, and Dr. Ahmed Zaid, Head of the Hepatology Unit, and a group of senior professors of internal medicine, international lecturers and students.

In his speech, Dr. Ashraf El-Ghandour stressed that Alexandria University is keen to support and motivate all scientific conferences that discuss and present all that is new in all disciplines related to the departments of internal diseases and haematology at the Faculty of Medicine, in a way that contributes to enriching the medical scene, in cooperation with the rest of the faculty’s departments, to achieve what is called “Integrative Medicine” to ensure a successful medical system at the university. Dr. El-Ghandour confirmed that he is proud to be a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, specifically the Department of Internal Medicine, as it is one of its oldest departments, that has achieved a qualitative leap in its various sub-specialties in internal and blood diseases. In addition, it includes a group of the greatest professors and great scientists who contributed to the graduation of qualified doctors who in turn took part in the advancement of medicine in Egypt and many Arab countries, and the improvement of health services provided to millions of patients over many years.
 
Dr. Iman Youssef confirmed that the conference was preceded by several research sessions and discussions at the premises of the Department of Internal Medicine on Tuesday the 22nd of November, with the participation of the department’s professors, graduate students and interns. Youssef confirmed that the conference hosts a group of senior professors of haematology, diabetes, hepatology, gastroenterology, and rheumatism, and international lecturers, to discuss integrative medicine between the 8 units of the Department of Internal Medicine and the rest of the clinical departments of the faculty, as well as to discuss the latest methods of diagnosis and treatment in internal diseases and haematology. The participants will also hold scientific sessions and important lectures to discuss the latest types of treatments and medicines, and to shed light on all that is new in the field, whether through presenting scientific research or through workshops that contribute to updating the information of all doctors and keeping abreast of all that is new in various medical specialties.

The Institute for Mediterranean Studies launched the activities of its third cultural season on the 29th of October, by holding a public symposium entitled “200 years of Egyptology: making historical documentaries” and showing the film “200 years of Egyptology”, which was produced by Egyptian television and shown in the Good Morning Egypt program on the occasion of the 200th anniversary On deciphering the Rosetta Stone. The Institute hosted Mr. Mustafa Kafafi, a media personality and a documentary film maker, to present and comment on the film.
